Frozen winged

Wings outstretched
Wind bellowing below
Gush of adrenaline
Eyes squinting

Sky as bright as snow
clouds lofty
soft

And just like that
before you even know
you feel a sudden numbness
a sudden cold

just like that
your eyes squint even harder
this time not because of the irritating wind
but because of the new wind
dry and cold

you lost control of movement
your flappings slow
your wings are clipped
as heavy as solid gold

you no longer soar
not even glide,
not in control any more

It feels as if
you have lost your wings

wait a minute..
frozen, they are gone..

you don't even have your own wings to embrace yourself
fight the cold
to give yourself that warm hug
to just cover you

you fall on the ground
fetal position
naked
without cover

but who gives a damn
