Pissed
Alright, im feeling like so AJ today... and i am so irritated!!
if i could write in to a forum (say Straits Times or Today) i would have so much to say. I can't bloody understand why the media on and on again have been discriminating homosexuals. And that is open discrimination on very very viewable sources of infomation.
First and foremost, what is it about homosexuals that the media has to push so much emphasis that it sidelines us. They tread so carefully when talking about issues pertaining religion, gender, race.. yada yada and even generations (eg the younger generation) because so many people or group representatives have so much to say whenever they feel misrepresented. On the other hand, we (homosexuals) transcend all boundries, we are not divided by race, religion, countries, schools of thought or even gender! Male or female, black or white, an individual might be AJ. Yet divided we fall, and fall prey to the brutalities of others for that fact.
I am so pissed about the fact that the chinese media seems to enjoy publisizing the names and even information about the 5 gays who falsified information when donating blood. In the first place, these poor guys probably already have so much to deal with the fact that they now have a death sentence. I seriously doubt all of them donated blood knowing they were already infected. Yet not only are they pitiful, the media relishes making them look like criminals, just like drowning a stray cat in a pot of boiling acid in public just because it was a stray cat who did a small boo boo like overturning trash. And so much emphasis that they were gay men. What about those who were str8? no str8 guys donate HIV positive blood? or is it cause str8 men cant be bothered to do their part for the general public.
Blood donation is a worthy cause, more worthy than donating money to say the fish food for the koi swimming in NKF's ponds and yet just because of falsified infomation their entire lives are put for public display? which btw if discrimination continues, how is it people would dare to declare themselves gay on survey forms for fear friends might happen to glimpse or that the doctor who checks the form (before the blood donation starts) in front of you might sneer? those are outstanding problems. Furthermore, all blood donated is screened and so far they is no news of ANY HIV infections caused by donated blood. Get it, the lives of these 5 brave guys are changed forever and yet it seems the media is pointing to them to be punished and not emphatised. Singaporeans are interesting people, you dont appreciate, we stop bothering.. i wonder how many people would think twice before deciding NOT to donate blood. BOYCOTT
was watching TAB TV the other day. About teenage sexual activities. The show went on, featuring the owner of the sarong party girl blog, her promiscuous life at her young age, a teenage student who got pregnant from her boyfriend which led her to abortions in life, a guy who has visited prostitutes. Feature them, interview and all that, all of them OK. And after that, feature a story about a teenage gay who got HIV and has to live with it. Thanx hor.
how about the newspaper article in Mind Your Body on which on the cover wrote something like "you can't get HIV from... being in crowded places, being around gay people.." what the fuck are you saying? that gay people are not people?? or that crowded places are filled with ducks, chickens and cows? please..
or how about the emphasis about the number and proportions of gays who have Aids.
continue linking Aids to being a homosexual disease and i fully assure you your education system might further lower the proportions of homosexual linked HIV infections in the future.
