ray is 2 lazy today to think of a one word title

yay, its the december holidays, online at 8.45 in the morning im quite surprised to see some friends online.. but its coz they are the same as me - at home because they are on leave (hehehe, for those not on leave, remember to plan dec leave next year)..

aniway more stuff to add to stuff of 2005:

- completed 1 star kayak course =)
- December '05 HIV test: negative =)

not that im worried about the hiv test, but just take it as a formality as a once a year thing. I mean if u don't have sex u don't have to take the test, but if u do, no matter how safe or how low the chance (i believe very few people practise oral sex with a condom on?), its doing ur part for the community to take the test coz u never know. Than again there are those who dare not take the test even though they belong to the higher risk catagory. Those are the people who i feel are slightly more responsible for the spread of the epidemic.

Owell, all i can say is, why not take the test ya? do your part.

well that aside, lets go into more trivia stuff

Q: why is it in Singapore we see "Merry Christmas" but if you noticed through the media in one form or another in the US it seems to be "Happy Holidays" ?

A: Chirstmas is associated as being a Christian festive season. In the US, being very multi racial (the percentage of minorities combined is bigger than the percentage of whites) it has to take into account other races. Furthermore, during december, there is also the African festive season (not sure what name) and the Jewish festive season (called Hanukkah). The average US citizen knows what Hanukkah represents and so it is often reflected in TV shows. So now you know.

Q: Why is it the movie ticket prices keep increasing? it used to be around $5, when will it stop increasing?

A: I cant tell you when it will stop increasing (and i dont think it will stop) but i can tell you why. It is based on Economics - Demand and Supply. Let me explain; when demand exceeds supply (number of people who want to watch exceeds number of available seats) price would increase. Why? so that (1) there would be less people who want to watch (therefore less people who go home unhappy coz of full cinemas) (2) the cinemas can make more money.

Actually singapore cinemas are very nice. On weekdays the tickets are cheaper, thus having a fair spread. Instead of everybody fighting for the weekend seats, now a percentage would rather watch on weekdays, thus more happy people. We should also be thankful they don't raise the price of new movies. (practised in some countries). Than again they also dont offer cheap tickets for old movies (frown).

k la, cant think of anithing else to blog
till next time

Happy Holidays =)
